Throw it already!

Relic is six months old now and he’s just discovered open water. As you can see, retrieving sticks has become his new favorite activity…a very serious and focused activity.

Bringing it in!

The water is still pretty cold so he’s only gone in up to his belly. However, I think the water has flicked the genetic retriever switch in his brain and it’ll be hard to keep him dry from here on in. Those webbed feet must be meant for something!

The new Roomba is working overtime around the house. The problem is, I can’t help watching it work(…which defeats the purpose of having an autonomous robot clean your floors!) Very cool watching it zigzag around a room and navigate obstacles! And boy does it clean…

…and I thought that room was clean…?!  Guess the dog will keep it employed for a long time

Bleeker is once again thrilled to be the official mascot and above is the 2013 logo! Get all your Bleeker NRW gear in the shop and get all duded up for the annual bot party!

The NRW strips will start on the 6th but the storyline begins the week before…love is in the air this year so look for it starting April 1st…

With the Georgian Bay frozen over it’s been great for chucking the soft frisbee and crunching icicles. We’ve had a bit of warmer weather lately and lost most of our snow. With Spring approaching, that means mud and having a dog with white paws doesn’t seem like such a good idea.

We also finished our first six weeks of classes and had a great time at Muskoka District Kennel Club in Gravenhurst. In our final test we had to complete a series of exercises, one being the pizza test. A knock at the door signaled a pizza delivery and the dog had to sit while we (the handler) paid for the pizza from the delivery person…Relic had a hard time not saying Hi and staying put, so we ended the exercise with a 3rd place finish…the SHAME! At the end of the classes we got this group photo…it was very difficult to get 5 pups all under 6 months to stay still.

Besides working on his retrieving and obedience skills, Relic has been leaving these around the house…

My hands are especially glad to see the needle-like incisors go.

The lad weighs 26 lbs now…minus a few teeth. I’m looking forward to getting him in the water this Spring and getting those retrieves locked down. Might also try agility classes…if I can get in shape to keep up….

Actually, Relic’s old man Harvey is competing in the Toller, Sporting Group at 1pm on Tuesday…so go Harv! Relic will be here at home working on his upside down sleeping skills…
